This week we visit the glow-stick-glittered shores of North West England for the Bangface Weekender. We’ll be joining the raved-out pranksters from Chin Stroke Records who are co-presenting the festival TV programming with Network Awesome. What excellent company!
Featuring the following BSB programs:
Jamming culture until it’s broken. Our selection of brutals from Emergency Broadcast Network, Negativland, People Like Us, Church of the Subgenius, St Sanders, and the very bloody depths of the copyright infringing internet.
The Crazy Cult of the New World Church of Creepy Crackpots
Join us! For a journey through your future-past lives as is only possible with the latest of consumer electronics technology. A rapture of eternally saving channel-surfing, where the gods are crazy and self-ordained priests offer you spirituality at special prices in a blasphemous mix of parody and reality.
Glitch Is Fucked
Get ready for epileptic blasts of computer graphics; rainbowing mushrooms of data corruption; analog synaesthesia processes; documents of pseudo-science; propaganda for non-existent conspiracies; classic early-internet viral weirdness; found videos from unknown sources; and maybe the odd cartoon.
The first edition of BSB at Spektrum will feature two different sets of connected short films:
1. “Glitch Is Fucked” (see below for playlist)
… or should that read ‘Glitch Is Fucking Great!’? We’re not sure. Herein we will explore those visions which will either glorify or lay waste to the so-called Glitch Movement.
2. “Music is Fucked Too”
It’s a lot like the first one, except you can nod your head and talk if you want to.

It’s my pleasure to present the new music video for Katapulto – “Lies” – from his wonderful new album “Powerflex”. This video also contains some powerful artwork from the ever-inspiring Joe Evans. I must say it was a joy hacking atop the work of such unique artists. Unhashedtag: post-transhuman-psychedelia!
And then there’s this music video… The images are a bizarre mix of outdated 90s raver trash, gratuitous green-screen, and datamosh techniques. The song is reminiscent of many fine Belgium New Beat acid house classics. Recommended.
This is a live camera recording of the first anaglyph 3D stereoscopic audio-visual performance from The Superusers. Audience members were given red/cyan glasses in order to fully experience the computer-generated 3D interaction. The 3D effect is largely lost in this live recording (3D glasses are not essential to watch it), however the futuristic style and synaesthetic dynamic of the performance is still represented. The performance is completely improvised.
Recorded at l’Embobineuse (Marseille, France) on 1 February 2013.
Audio, video, programming by Pierre-erick Lefebvre and Scott Sinclair.
