pH3

pH3 is a Brisbane-based group who has been performing and recording since April 2001. The pH3 sound flirts with most genres of modern experimental musics - such as harsh noise, loop-based electronica, concrete, ambient, free-jazz, and even post-rock - yet should remain uncategorised. The heart of comprehension here lies in the interplay between the electronic and acoustic elements that make pH3's sound collages whole. Although improvised there is also a fundamentalist approach to playing amongst the members - no noise is wasted, the *combination* reins supreme.

pH3 try to give every live event its own distinct personality by continually exploring the capabilities of their instruments and the dynamics of the given venue. A single set will contain a variety of textures fluctuating from soothing to disturbing, earthly to gothic, rhythmic to chaotic and back again.

pH3 have received airplay on ABC Classic FM's 'New Music Australia' as well as being featured on Brisbane 4ZZZ radio.
