DZO

DZO

Figures crowd in the mist, gesticulating as if calling down a mighty god from the sky.  Muted visions; you call out to them just before you realise that you are merely half awake; making you half asleep.  DZO is a dreamscape for the half awake.  Performed by Andrew Thomson(Biffplex, Diaspora) DZO focuses on the fine particles of sound that combine to form an exhaling world.  Cavernous rumbling bass is finely counterpointed with plaintiff crying to the sky; evocations of a yin/yang world that is one part dystopia sci-fi, two parts hermetic droneology.  Weaned on post-rave chill out, yet twisted and somehow resolutely black & white: DZO is the euphoria of standing on the edge, minus the comedown.
